Planning your visit

The Furneaux Museum is a 20-minute drive north from Whitemark on sealed roads.

We recommend you allow at least one hour for the Museum and follow with a visit to nearby Wybalenna historic site. There are also several lovely beaches in the area.

You could easily spend a day here - but plan ahead!  North of Whitemark, no fuel is available and the only food outlet is the food van located at the Museum. For food van trading hours click here.

The Museum has a small range of merchandise for sale such as books of local relevance and locally-made cards and soaps. The Museum site is wheelchair-accessible, but inside the old buildings space is restricted and some have steps.
