Allotment to farming

Each returned soldier was allocated a Lot. This Lot then became a farm with most families giving their farm a name.

There were 3 estates - Whitemark, Emita and Furneaux.

Whitemark estate was acquired from mrs... Vireux.

The Emita Estate was acquired from Mr. ... Hayes and consisted of 3 mini estates - The Quoin, Fairhaven and Kentdale.

The Furneaux Estate was aquired through extensive land development of virgin swampy bushland.
